I got up, well, my body got me up at 5:30 and I made my coffee etc., (I got cream cheese yesterday and it went every so well with the peanut butter on the toasted bread.) I heard a noise well... a very slight noise and looked up and there was a bull elk about 50 feet away. I walked toward it but the light was not good. So I leaned up came and started toward the wash house thinking shower and wash or wash and shower etc. (still had on my pj's)....when all of a sudden there was some action off the side of the road and a bull was wailing and the cow was running and I did not have to ask if it were mating season. The top picture was taken of the elk standing about 3 feet in front on the car with the camera person running around the car since he might think I am competition. The two bull were chasing each other and the younger one was trying to mount a cow. I did get a pic of the "baby" drinking with her mom nusing off of her. The adolescent cow who was not involved was in the trees near me and was very curious about me but stayed quiet while I got organized. Quite a morning.....
