motel 2 or was it six

I am fascinated by who comes to the canyon. There are two kinds of folks - the older folks and the young campers. Many are not from the US and I have come to appreciate that this is one thing that is so unique to the US. We have some natural wonders that are truly remarkable. Going into the Navajo and Hopi areas it is not easy to see the culture and you would probably have to be here many years to have a glimpse of what it it all about....are they from Tibet? As you drive across the reserve there are shacks, big trucks, piles of discarded cars etc. Many work at the park or are guides and they are the best.

This trip has helped me be very organized. It you don't have a spot for everything it is very hard to find in the dark in the wood. I lay my pj's in between the pillows - tops bottoms, socks and hat. My glasses go on the handle over the back door and the keys go on the slip for the cover for back...etc. The front has three bins...my snack box, my extra stuff and my next to be bin... my camera goes on top of that so that it is there and I can roll the window down and snap as I roll down the highway.

There are dogs - some on leashes as this one, some romping, etc. I was very happy to see that the pooch that was at the Elk romp this am was a very well trained dog and didn't respond at all.
Most of the folks are the same as you would find at social at the senior center...only some speak french and hobble off and on buses. A few catch my eye and are very interesting like the man on the bus sitting with his wife. I liked his hat. There was a man with a blind wife and a mother with a child in a wheel chair with a back brace and a wife driving her husband of many years
while he sat in the passenger seat with his he;ad in a brace. The most interesting person was a younger man ...30's who had a wife in a wheel chair and he pushed and lifted the chair all the way to the end of the trail...up steps and down. I saw him later and he raced to the end to the trail and back in a fierce wind and shouted, my wife said it was too windy. amazing
The parks are trying to get us to park and ride. This is very much the case at Zion but at the Grand South...you could drive. I oped for the bus and caught several drivers but Andy on C-27 twice.
As I was leaving the canyon, I went to the tower took this picture and then looked out the window for the last picture of the Grand Canyon.
and tonight...I am at the second motel 6 in Flagstaff and it is midnight at home and 9 in AZ.

Eleventh Day

Wow, it is easy to slip into a similar pattern to what I had at home. I produced a plan to change many things - delete more emails, eat hea...
