Portland

John the cook at the Eco Park just left Portland and had some suggestions of things I might enjoy. So after the car and clothes wash I was off to drive to the city which is a drive from Grisham. Pittock Mansion is a turn of the century home of a prominent family. It appears he made his money reviving the local newspaper. He"stands" out by being very short 5'1". Interesting house and view. I also checked out the Hobo bar met the owner who introduced me to cinnamon whiskey which she drinks with a mild cidar. The bar is in China town and the start of the underground city tour which I will take at 4 today. I will also take in a few of the offerings at Washington Park and after my tour. I found a Moroccan restaurant that I will try for dinner. I have many pictures of the interior of the house related to some things I want to do at my house. One of the purposes of this trip was to get the final plans for finishing the house. I am looking at rebuilding the pantry and spice rake. I was inspired at h&h home. I have set aside Sept and Oct for projects. These are projects that I want for myself but will be on view when the house is on tour in December. I allowed myself to get drawn into someone else's drama yesterday. I think of myself as generous but I expect others to think of my best interest, feels and comfort. Doesn't always happen. People give me what they would like to receive and not what I would like or what would make me comfortable. I fall into a pit of how can I accommodation rather than just take care of me. Georgette often said, wish you had a bonny.me too. But I can be better for me and I can start with simple yes and no with no need to explain. So it was a good day and next time....no.
I would have stayed in a park or Walmart but the city has an ordinance against camping. When you hit the city limits you start to see people on the street. I picked up the local city like newspaper and the lead article. ..the story of 10 people who are living in the city without a home. The woman in this picture was not in the article since they were down on luck folks. This woman is an ocd counter who has been in this doorway for two years. She has a coffee can not a mason jar.  So it is rags or riches.

The next pictures are the view from the Mansion, the shower and the children's punch and July.
