Rainier

There could not have been another wrong road to go down. I am a long way from the Grey Goose and Samantha, but there is something missing in her electronic system that cannot understand that dead end means don't go that way. I thought l was getting here early and I did find the Big Creek campgrounds fairly easily. How can you not locate a very lang glacial volcano. Easy. I went miles in the wrong direction and then came back miles . There really is very spotty wifi and Verizon. There is a national alert for a man and a young girl. Boy this is the place to hide. People have tents all over the place . The camp that I am at is Primitive. I am booked for two nights but this is the 3rd night without running water so I might go to Portland tomorrow and then back to mt st Helen. So while I am up the mountain, I am standing in a corner and I get 2 emails that I want to respond to. I try to use the phone. ...no service, no wifi. I spend many minutes trying to reconnect and finally use The pay phone for one response. As I am walking back to the car i get a slight ping and if I lean over the ledge with my hands outstretched i can email. I can hardly read what I am writing but figuring it is better than nothing. ...well maybe not. So to try to get the message straight, I decide to go down the mtn. There are two way down and took the wrong one and came out about 50 miles out of the way after the 44 miles down the mtn. Now how do I get from here to there? This is where Samantha has her breakdown and keeps trying to get me down the dead end road. Round and round I go until I look at the map and can see she is well meaning bur wrong. I turn her off, bite the bullet and head out the long way. Unfortunately I was not tending to the speed and the nice officer said the limit is 55 and you were doing 72. I also learned you can't roll down the Window without the power on. So I will have points and I am contributing $175 to the local economy. I am now thinking of getting home earlier but tomorrow is an other day. ?
This was one of the "highways" Samantha took me down.  She was probably saying go straight and my guides saying turn around.
It would appear that the protection of the spotted owl has caused the lumber business to dwindled to a trickle.  There are many trees.
The wild flowers are very lovely

Eleventh Day

Wow, it is easy to slip into a similar pattern to what I had at home. I produced a plan to change many things - delete more emails, eat hea...
