Thursday morning

(cooking the prawn)

The deal last night at the hot pot was very interesting. I really could not take my eyes off of all that was happening. Also I could not take my eyes off the folks walking about with hot coals. How the deal goes, you go in and either sit at a table with your feet under the table.. which we did and I was grateful.. or you can sit at a low table on mats.. like we did at the lantern restaurant. Anyway.,. there are long rows of tables with all kinds of raw stuff.. veggies too.. but prawn and meat and chicken etc.. and you can cook the stuff in a variety of ways.... they have a big common grill where folks toss stuff, a big pot of boiling water when you can load your clams and toss them in water or you can bring the stuff back to the table. There you have two choices.. to toss them on a grill or on a bbq deal that looks like a jello mold with a traugh and a dome with slits. on the dome with slits.. you put port fat.. and which cooks and lets the greece run into the traugh.. you can also lay your food on the dome. You add water to the traugh and when it all cooks.. you put it in a bowl and you have made soup.. They also had food pre cooked.. I cooked one sad looking prawn that I told I was sorry.. .. his whiskers burned off.. ( he was dead prior to our meeting.. but.. ) I also cooked a couple of mushrooms and some veggies.. They tasted a little like rubber.. but ..it was the experience. I also must tell you that I took three cooked chiken wings and a few french fries. The dessert looked good. I had fruit and some cake.. but the Thai put corn and kidney beans on ice cream... mmm interesting.. Susan.. something new for the lunch room... I can imagine what Alex would say to see all this.. Of course you can find an occassional fly or hair.. etc.. the beer was 60.. for big chang.. and the dinner was 129... so 3.80 .. plus beer. The manager told us he has served 5000 on a busy holiday. There were lots of younger thais.. like date age or young moms. Glad I went.. and also glad I had my peanuts before dinner.

Today.. I am helping Beth get a blog up.. so that she can send some pics etc.. So I am typing next to her machine... I will load one more pic.. I teased Misty last night.. she is morphing into Beth. When we leave here.. Misty will go to the beach and do kyaking by her self with a guide.. good for her. Beth is going to the beach also...different beach.. a few days in the sun will be good for her.. but if I were a mouse.. I don't think I would find her just resting... The necklace was one that she purchased at the sunday market.. very beautiful and looks good on her..

This is the smile for the day... this statue is in front of the meeting hall of one of the oldest teak Wat's in CM. I am sure there is reason.. but for today.. it is an extra smile. love to all.. b

Eleventh Day

Wow, it is easy to slip into a similar pattern to what I had at home. I produced a plan to change many things - delete more emails, eat hea...
