Tuesday...catch up with myself

my little house.. it looked so very sweet

I just had to send this little guys picture.. I think he was laughing at putter finger bonny dropping the lens cap under the platform.. I think Walt must have had him in mind when he created dumbo.

I really did not really want to go to the Triangle. When we got to the travel place.. yes it was 1000 baht to get in the car and drive for 6 hrs. Oh that was ok but they it was 400 to see the long neck and 300 to go down the river and $10 to go here and there.. and so I talked Jean into going alone. The deal was, I get up and get her banana's and oranges.. and wake her up. I did that and then with camera in hand, went back to the market. It was great. I felt like I was back in my own skin and just strolled around and took pictures. I got out of my own way and started to ask folks what they were doing and soon I was learning to string flowers and make sweets .. I saw were the folks live and had raw coconut. I took pictures and they wanted to see the pictures.. and then had be take pictures of others.. etc.. I had some seasame cracker deals and other sweets. There were times when the dried squid did start to get to me.. but it was all fun. I did that for a long time.. I didn't go through all the stalls on the first floor even.. but I did most of the food and flowers. I will go back.

Another picture just arrived. I am mastering the photo stuff by downloading one at a time. This is one of the now 46 dogs that go with the 32 elephants at the park. I named him the thinker in my own head but they now have pics of all the dogs and where they usually hang out. He was very busy watching the water buffalo that are out with the elephants. They would watch and when they thought the buffalo were doing something they should not.. they would spring into action and jump off the platform and race out to the site.
We did about all you could do in as two day trip to the Nest.. we climbed the stairs, had a bbq, set off lanterns, saw the elephants and then go up and fed the monks. This is Molly in a Kent State hat and mittens ( she is from Ohio.. and it is hardly cold) putting her bag in the pot. That is Beth accross the road taking a pic

Next to the Galore is a place to get the laundry done. The man there also runs a "taxi" service to various sights in his Volvo. The volvo has coins attached to windshield and visor etc. He has 32 state quarters... I figured he would have be going some places that I did not want to stop at.. but he did take me to a few quality places and I bought a jade budda for a thursday birth.. and a chain and ankle bracelet. I can only do that for so long.. I did see them making bronze things, teak things and silver things.. and then he took me to two indian places that had rugs to die for.. they were only 900 but more than I can swing. When I got back I had a terrific bowl of coconut cream curry soup and friend rice and onions.. and of course my Chang, It was nice to sit in the quiet.. I like eating a big meal at 2.. then an ice coffee while I hit the keys. It is 6:30 in the morning and this will be ready for the morning review... I looked at my hands at lunch and they looked like I had been making the coconuts.. so I went to a manicurist.. and for $6 I am Sui... beautiful...

My last comment of the day.. this is a picture of our pick up the leaf man.. If you ever have wondered about a go no place job.. just think of getting up every morning and picking up the leaves at the Nest... I was going to get his face.. but this said it all... I am not sure what I will do tonight.. some are going to the boxing... the little man says.. it is all staged for the americans.. I think I might wander over to the market area and watch the free dancers.. I am going to try to see how I can get my lanterns into the country. The waxes is not attached to the balloons.. but not sure about the wax. i will take a picture. ...I am sure bro Scott and John can help me figure how to make the wax ring out of a toilet seal.. They cost me 25 baht each... I bought 20 but could get more.. what do you think.
