Cambodia day 2

I hope to get some pics into this..but one does not know what will happen. Joe likes to go to the gambling places and I like to take the chance on the puter. I am down on the corner (where we walked for film) and it is hot....94-95 and 5:45 at night. This is the last night for the group. Joe is ready to be home with his honey and JoAnn has pushed her comfort to the end and has been a great trooper. We were sad to see Cheryl go but were ever so grateful for all who stepped in to help out with soup or rides or momsitting etc. So she could stay. While Heidi looked good in the elephant hat fan, I think it was made for Cheryl and her pink shirt.

I know that Angkor was high on Joe's bucket list so it was good he got to stay here and see the sights. Our guide, Mr Soly was as good as Virak and was very kind to us. We did the two major ruins yesterday and today did 5. Both days we ate were they suggested and it was very good. JoAnn has eaten and gone to more things outside her comfort zone..and while she does not have a tatoo or dreads... she has opened her eye for experience. ( I am paying for my next trip by not putting in the picture of JoAnn at the penis park). This is a picture of Joe and it could be almost anyplace. There have been many pictures taken and if he invites you for a showing, bring several meals and a sleeping bag and then have someone call ou with an urgent appointment. Everyone got along well but Joe gets the mr congeniality award. One of the things we saw on the Amazing Race was finding the spot in Angkor where you can thump your chest and create an echo. We found the spot and here JoAnn is making the boom sound by hitting herself in the chest by standing the correct spot. We all did it and it was fun. Joe and I have new festival hats. I will wear my Pinocchio hat and Joe will wear a similar hat. We did two very long days climbing up and down and around may ruins. Today we went to a few that I had not been to. We stopped by the side of the road at the village that we stopped in two years ago, but this time we went and looked into the homes and saw the kitchen and living area. As Soly said, they all sleep together and there are 5-10 children. We did by some palm sugar and some kitchen utensils. It was interesting.

Yesterday at Angkor Wat, there were many children about. Here a little one comes to Joe who was about to tell him that in his country they eat children. The child did not go away. Page did not come with us today so she is not in many pictures. Yesterday she and JoAnn were trying out for tour guides. Interestingly the stairs to the top was under construction. There is a god and I am grateful for not having to do that. When we got back yesterday, I had my toes done and there is nothing like a hot shower. Joe and JoAnn swam and today Page had a massage in between doctor visits. I hope she is well enough to go on. We travel well together and I think she can help me learn more about myself. I selected only people pics for today since it is the family and friends that I want to say, thank you for sharing your family member with me on this venture. As Page and I go off tomorrow it will be to new sights but I am sure we will have a great fun dime. In the last picture, Page is sitting at the top with Mr Soly talking about life. He is expecting his first child also and just saw the ultrasound. I have a picture of Viraks son to scan and share when I get home. As you know, I will do the best I can to keep you posted but we have no idea what we will find in Nam. We have TV here and have followed the terrible fires and financial mess and Isreal elections while photos of 854 ruins and heat and dirt and sand and wild tuk rides.... etc.. love to all.. and by for now.

Eleventh Day

Wow, it is easy to slip into a similar pattern to what I had at home. I produced a plan to change many things - delete more emails, eat hea...
