Some pre-trip thoughts

I have learned a little about who, why, and how people travel. Some folks have asked why I go to the same place every trip.
1st, the trip for the $ is important but to me it is not the same place.
This trip, my hope is that I can get some story shots. A few years ago, I took some pictures of a little girl washing her socks at a community water spigot and this is the kind of think I want to photograph... you can feel her story in the three pictures.. and can almost hear her doing her "women chores"

The boys would come by and knock the socks out of her hand and she would pick them up out of the puddle where her only shoes are located and start over.
I stood for a long time, long enough for me to be just part of the shadows of her life as she went on about her important business. And then she turned and studied my face, and I took her picture.
I hope to take the time to write more about what I see and learn more about the camera. Guess I will have 27 hrs to read the manual, eat, and watch a couple of movies...
If I ever wonder about why I am going back to the land of smiles, I will just remember the sock girl in pink.. and know it is all worth it.  And since that was three years ago I hope not to recognize her on the street with a frog and tired eyes.

Eleventh Day

Wow, it is easy to slip into a similar pattern to what I had at home. I produced a plan to change many things - delete more emails, eat hea...
