the Rodeo

Stepped back in time. Got up early and made it up the mountain before the crowd. Which means I was able to get a parking spot in the parking lot vs half way down the mountain. You are reminded of the altitude when you are walking up and your joints when you are walking down. Not win win.The talk in the lodge was very interesting. We could go to any subject. Lots was about climbing. I spoke three men from Spokane who were on the way up They had 40 pounds of gear and would walk to the base and then try to sleep until 1am when they would leave for the summit tethered to the group. When they got to the top, they would come down and sleep. I met two women in the parking lot. ..one going to galapagous and the other That land. I also bought an envelope with stamp for the speeding ticket. lovely stamp. I stopped at the sports store and bought a small backpack and some hiking sticks. Then off to a county fair which turned out to be a fee booths and a couple of rides. I did not expect much from the lawn mower races but they turned out to be great fun. First there was a flea market with I believe real fleas. It was all buy and sell . baseball caps, tools, a plastic belt with some magic lotion another pill that you take and lose weight. But the big draw was the 45 lumber jack event and the lawn motor Rodeo,
There was food
Motorcycle folks
Pretty local women flirting with neighbors
Lumber jacks with cameras

And Cowboys on lawnmower

They have tractor square dancing at Peppermint Days right here in Lyons New York - no need to drive thousands of miles! Love the way you capture the people you meet on your pix - you have such a gift. Stay safe and enjoy xo
