The formations go on and on and on and while this is called far view...the morning haze does not do the long view justice.
I can't help grabbing the camera as I drive. think that might be worse than texting.
There were very few people in the park and so I was able to get up and park and walk out to each of the viewing areas with easy. I got so involved that I did not eat until about 1. Tonight I have a choice of a camp ground by Powell lake or Wally's. If it is not too late when I finish here I will try the Lake. Tomorrow at 10:30 I am going to meet a native woman who will take me down to Antelope and Rattlesnake caves for photo shoot. I had planned so spend my extra trip money on this type of things.... I will get to 3 caves and it will be $66.
Today i stopped at the most interesting place run by the Land Management folks. They have been digging up dinosaur remains in the area of the escalate... The ruins were amazing as was the time... earth has gone through 29 melting of the ice cap and 29 million years.... The movie was fascinating and the ranger was great. It was just the two of us so I had lots of questions. I am coming home with many questions about rock formation and tribes. The Navajo were believed to have come from Tibet and the there is proof that the Aztec came as far north as Flagstaff...and what ran the ancient Pueblos off.... all interesting. I am thinking now that I will go to South Rim and then run back across AZ to Aztec, and two other canyons before I head to Santa Fe...and Mitch.. but who knows... this is my adventure.
