This has been a wait for the ferry kinda two days. One thing about the northwest is water and islands. When i left H&H, the ferry that would have taken me to the coast and not back to Vancouver was not leaving until 3:30. Sometimes the long way is the short way. I went back to Sydney and then ending near Vancouver, I took the highway and ended in a ball game with Samantha screaming traffic ahead. I then discovered that my park was on an island and a second ferry. To have breakfast with Cedar, I had to come back. After breakfast, and after 20 miles on the road, Samantha said, are you happy on the highway? No. I have an alternate route. mmmm this looks familiar, why there is the ferry I came over on at 6 am. It is now 12:30. Back on the ferry. When I get to the main land on the other side, I will have about 90 miles to the lake in the middle of the forest. I will only stay one night. Cedar took me to a little breakfast/lunch place on the water. I had ginger pancakes with applesauce. They were very good but heavy. This is one of the areas I thought I wanted to live in. Traffic is terrific. There are many charge your car stands, lots of health type things, etc. The camp ground was not cheap but quiet. I have been having an issue with the car payment. It would appear that I sent the money to the wrong address. Off by one number. The wonderful folks at Summit figured it out and got it right. Ferry is landing....When I finally got to the camp grounds over dirt roads and logging truck back country dirt and gravel roads the camp was nice but remote. Even the bathroom was a Porta potty. Fortunately when I asked directions at a general Store they told me no supplies at the camp. Dinner was two over done pieces of chicken, Blue berries, cauliflower, nuts, a beer or 2, and peanut butter. I slept well for it was the darkest night yet. Looking forward to the shower at Mt Rainier.
Scary to think of a bull on the ferry.
I found three logs and had my first fire.
There was a lake at this camp..nice evening to stroll.
EARLY morning ferry.
